Feeling Behind

i’m feeling behind in every way. i just finished an email interview for a regional magazine. one of the questions was, ‘what have you learned so far from your fan-funding/fan-produced album experience?’ the main thing i wish i could have done was to launch the fundraiser 6 months ago. that way i could pay the producer on time, cause he deserves to be paid on time, but also i would be able to focus 100% on music in the studio and not stress to much about fundraising. but, talking with sofia tonight, i realized i wouldn’t have much to say in the blog. every entry would be… ’so we got a couple more presales today, now we’re up to ‘x’ amount!’. instead, cause i’m the studio, i can put up more interesting blog entries.
i was also supposed to rework two songs this weekend. i didn’t get to (sorry tim, i tried to do my homework, really i did!) but i did start writing a new song. it sounds like something alanis would sing. so i feel behind in that too. but i’m also moving forward. each day in the studio is a step forward! tomorrow i go in at 11am. we’re working on ’siren’ right now. also, we have some print promotion coming out which is exciting. when they are published i’ll let everyone know! the billboard press release seems to be making its’ way around the net. IndiesTop10.com found the press release and i did a phone interview for their June 08′ Podcast last Friday. so feeling behind is just that, a feeling. cause things are moving forward, the presale is progressing and music is being made… got some cool ideas we’re going to try this week. stay tuned!
